Crypto profit and ROI calculator
Enter a buy price, a sell price, the quantity and any fees, and this tool shows your profit and return on investment straight away. It runs in your browser, needs no account, and is a plain profit calculation, not a tax figure.
Profit and ROI only, not a tax figure and not tax advice.
Plain profit and ROI, not a tax figure and not tax advice. Your taxable gain depends on your cost basis method, holding period and country.
What the calculator shows you
Your profit
Profit is what you sold for minus what you paid, minus fees: `(sell price x quantity) - (buy price x quantity) - fees`. Enter each value and it updates as you type, so you can see the effect of a different exit price or a higher fee immediately.
Your return on investment
ROI expresses that profit as a percentage of what you put in, so a 500 profit on a 1,000 stake is a 50% return. It lets you compare trades of very different sizes on the same footing, which a raw profit figure cannot.
Profit is not the same as taxable gain
This tool tells you whether a trade made money. Your taxable gain can differ: it depends on which coins you are treated as having sold (your cost basis method), how long you held, and your country's rules. To turn a profit into a tax figure, use the capital gains by country tool or the full crypto tax calculator.
When to use it
It is quickest for sizing up a single position, comparing two exit prices, or checking a return before you commit. For a whole portfolio across exchanges and wallets, where transfers and fees stack up, the full report does the reconciliation for you.
